Make Your Transformation Dream A Reality!
I absolutely LOVE to see people Transform their Bodies from the inside out!
I too have been there and I know how hard it is. It was over 20 years ago now for me when I was 185lbs and wanted so badly to be healthy, fit, and trim. This is when my passion for fitness really began. I was struggling with weight & health issues most of my adolescent life and I was hiding my body behind oversized baggy clothes … At the time there was no internet so I bought low impact fitness videos and worked out in the privacy of my home and even then I worked out in my oversized clothes! There was no way I would go to the gym! In fact my brother at the time was a Martial Arts Instructor and one day invited me to his martial arts class (I was 16 at the time) Omg!! It was just awful! The instructor was yelling at me saying and how fat and out of shape I was...well, I was completely devastated and never went back, but I guess he stirred up something in me because I was determined to prove him wrong and after that experience I really didn't want any help. As emotional & painful as it was at the time there was just no other choice.
This is me at age 18 at my cousins wedding... I was so thrilled, I had just lost 20 lbs. and this was my first ever fitted dress!
So I began training myself in the comfort of my home, and even then I kept my baggy clothes on....but everyday I put my the low impact workout videos in the VCR & also started jogging on the spot, eventually jogging outside (I hated jogging!) one block at a time…later, I learned weight training, combined them both, and finally, I lost 50lbs! 4 years later because I had no idea what I was doing when I started, (I wish I had BodyRock back then!!)
I embraced Fitness wholeheartedly from that moment on and today I love running, weight training, and core & cardio conditioning…it’s amazing how things CAN change!! And Oh... I became a Martial Arts Instructor to boot in my early 20's! But you know, I learned from my early experience to only see the best in people... see them as strong, capable, limitless.... see their true potential regardless of their starting point and eventually ...they will believe it! The days of tough love are long gone...or should be...we are now living in an age where most people are seeking Inspiration and Encouragement.
I feel like I've come full circle really, because I am back to training in my home again and just Loving it!! For those of you who feel frustrated, or stuck in your Transformation journey I have to tell you....just keep going! Keep at it! Also, take the pressure off yourself...allow yourself some time to achieve your goal because likely your unwanted weight gain and/or health issues didn't happen overnight. All you have to remember is to give 110% to your workouts and think before you eat...that is ...set yourself up for success by planning ahead with your meals, in other words, create an environment that supports you....
Be Determined to Making your Transformation a Reality and see it through ....as one of my instructor's would always say to me ...
"Don't Quit...just FINISH IT!"
So Finish it. ;)
