Master the Move #16: Goblet Squats

Welcome to Master the Move. In this new series, we will focus on one specific exercise at time to break it down for you to learn it a little better for your next HIIT workout. Goblet Squats are great for beginners who are looking to perfect their general squat technique by teaching proper upper back alrightnment awareness. Since you have the weight in front, it helps you balance upward to keep you in the correct form-otherwise, you would tip on over! To perform a goblet squat, you will need some type of weight such as a dumbbell or kettlebell. Some even use a medicine ball!   1. Stand holding a light kettlebell by the horns close to your chest. This will be your starting position.
  2. Squat down between your legs until your hamstrings are on your calves. Keep your chest and head up and your back straight.
  3. At the bottom position, pause and use your elbows to push your knees out. Return to the starting position, and repeat.
