When Michael Arkous found himself overwhelmed with despair, he knew his weight was an important factor in the way he felt. Being picked on in grade school had led Michael to eating as his only means of comfort, and his solitary life as a teenager and young adult only caused him to eat more. By the time he reached the age of 24, Michael stood 6' 4" but weighed over 330 pounds. It was time for a change! Basketball was Michael's first exercise love, and he would play every day--rain or shine. It didn't matter how quickly he would run out of steam, he would just walk around the track. Until one day he could RUN around the track. Before he knew it, he had reached a plateau in his weight loss, so it was time to kick things up a notch. Adding cardio--jumping jacks, stationary bike, etc.--to his routine helped him to lose 100 pounds and 10 pant sizes in a year, without any diet or weight loss pills. Not only did Michael lose weight, he has also gone on to become a certified personal trainer. Now, at the age of 25, he's not just healthy, but he's fit and loving life!
