Models just can't seem to catch a break. They're either shunned by the media for looking too tiny, or shunned by the modeling industry for not looking thin enough. It's a constant battle that needs to end. But models just aren't having it anymore. British model Charli Howard lashed out in a recent Facebook post, sending "a big F*CK YOU" to her London-based agency for criticizing her shape. She said, "Here’s a big F*CK YOU to my (now ex) model agency, for saying… I’m ‘too big’ and ‘out of shape’ to work in the fashion industry… I refuse to feel ashamed and upset on a daily basis for not meeting your ridiculous, unobtainable beauty standards… The more you force [me and other models] to lose weight and be small, the more designers have to make clothes to fit our sizes, and the more young girls are being made ill. It’s no longer an image I choose to represent." The 5'8'' beauty is a UK size 6-8 (which is a US size 2-4). "In case you hadn’t [realized], I am a woman. I am human. I cannot miraculously shave my hip bones down, just to fit into a sample size piece of clothing or to meet ‘agency standards’… A large majority of my clients are OK with this," she continued in her post. The responses from fans applauded the model for her words. While Annette-Marie Kjean, head of women at global modeling agency Wilhelmina, called Howard out for not being totally honest of the entire situation. Do you think Annette-Marie Kjean was too harsh in her words, or do you think Charlie Howard has it right?
