This Is Why You Should Never Wear Your Shoes in the House

One of the first things many of us do when we get home is take off our shoes. We like to feel our bare feet on the ground. It's a sense of freedom and release. But not all of us take our shoes off before we enter the door. We walk through the house and to our bedrooms to kick them off, or perhaps we jump on the couch and realize half way through our relaxation session that we still have our shoes on, eventually letting them loose on the floor for people to trip over. But have you ever been to someone else's house who stops you in your tracks outside their door and informs you their home is a shoe-free environment? If so, you may have respectively obliged without quite asking why. never wear shoes in house It's safe to say one of the biggest reasons to take off your shoes before stepping inside is because your shoe is a carrier of all things dirty. In fact, The University of Houston conducted a study which found that 39 percent of shoes contained bacteria Clostridium difficile which is resistant to a variety of antibiotics. This type of bacteria can also cause diarrhea and colon inflammation. “Shoes are contaminated from diverse sources, and we are regularly contaminating our doorsteps by shoes,” explained study author M. Jahangir Alam, Ph.D. Shoes also contain germs, chemicals and oil or petroleum by-products, so by wearing them in your home, you are causing a greater risk of contracting harmful health conditions to both yourself as well as your friends and family.
