Nicole Richie drops to 88lbs Living off Sunflower Seeds, Celery Juice, and Gum

January 14, 2014 1 min read

Nicole Richie has sparked off another round of anorexia rumors after appearing at Antonio Berardi's dinner in Beverly Hills.  According to Star Magazine, she's been living off sunflower seeds and celery juice and gum to stave off hunger.  The reliability of the magazine can be debated, it's obvious that Nicole has been losing a great deal of weight. article-2536119-1A7D516A00000578-491_634x950 Two years ago the mom of two stepped out on the beach in a black bikini and looked the healthiest she has in years.  It seemed like an unbelievable change for the reality star. article-2536119-1A81C29C00000578-321_306x423 A friend of Nicole's told Star that she's healthy.  Anorexia rumors are certainly nothing new for Nicole as they have been going on for years but are they helpful?  What is the purpose of constant and obsessive worrying about another person's weight?  Nicole herself told Marie Claire Magazine in 2010 that, "I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t. It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible. An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease.' article-2536119-1A81601700000578-603_306x685 Certainly there are people who are naturally skinny and who have an extremely hard time putting on weight.  Besides that fact, what are the ramifications of labeling someone as anorexic?  The public pressure is enough to make the situation worse.  Speculation in magazines like this can do serious harm to those who are in the checkout lane and who do have struggles with anorexia.  Labeling what another person looks like at 88 lbs isn't healthy at all. nicole-richie-weight-loss-before-after-2006-2012-2013-bikini-body-anorexic-running-on-the-beach-gossip-news
