No More Nudes for Playboy? Can This Be True?

It's hard to imagine Playboy without the nudity. In fact, that's what the allure was always about. But, with nudity, an easy commodity to come by on the Internet at any given moment, people are less impressed with the action that store bought magazines are providing. FEATURE-IN-POST-PLAYBOY To many people's dismay, though not likely a surprise given the way things have been going, Playboy has had to take some serious actions in order to ensure they don't sink any further. That's why the publication has announced that, in addition to ridding their website of full nudity over a year ago, they are now doing so with their print editions as well. "That battle has been fought and won. You’re now one click away from every sex act imaginable for free. And so it’s just passé at this juncture," noted Scott Flanders, Playboy’s chief executive, in an interview with The New York Times, INPOST-PLAYBOY The decision is clearly the result of Playboy's plummeting success. In fact, its circulation has dropped from 5.6 million in 1975 to about 800,000 today. But the question remains ... what will set Playboy apart now? Flanders says, "The difference between us and Vice, is that we’re going after the guy with a job." Looks like we're all going to have to read the articles after all.
