Chunky Monkey, Cherry Garcia, The Tonight Dough...what if Ben & Jerry's next ice cream flavor was something like Get to the Joint or Keep on the Grass? (Um, and thus ends any shot I might have had at someday becoming a professional ice cream namer.) In any case! In a recent interview with HuffPost Live, Ben & Jerry's owners—Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield—said they are down with the idea of creating a new marijuana-infused ice cream flavor.Regarding the question of incorporating cannabis into a new flavor—pending the legality of doing so—Cohen said: "Makes sense to me…combine your pleasures." In the segment, Greenfield seemed a bit more hesitant to give the idea a public thumbs-up. But he did say: "Ben and I have had previous experiences with substances, and I think legalizing marijuana is a wonderful thing.... It's not my decision. If it were my decision, I'd be doing it, but fortunately we have wiser heads at the company that figure those things out." As of today, there are three U.S. states in which consuming recreational marijuana is legal— Alaska, Washington, and Colorado (in July, marijuana consumption will also be legal in Oregon). Meanwhile, there are24 states (including Washington, D.C.) in which medical marijuana prescriptions are legal. So! What are your thoughts?
