Oprah Magazine Fat Shames And Instagram Fights Back!
It came as a surprise from the body-positive publication, O Magazine, that it did not support the idea that crop tops were for every body.
The magazine bares Oprah Winfrey's name. Oprah has always been a figure of self-love and is a woman who has struggled with weight gain and weight loss very publicly. So why would her magazine answer the question, "Can I pull off a crop top?" with "If (and only if!) you have a flat stomach, feel free to try one."
That one sentence sparked a fire storm! Instagram became overrun with posts from women of all different shapes and sizes baring their bellies in crop tops. Plus sized women in particular showed how, yes, they can even wear this article of clothing and feel good about themselves.
#StyleHasNoSize has taken over, and we're loving it. And honestly, I don't believe women are going to take advice from a magazine which also suggests they purchase one of these half shirts for $60. No thanks, Oprah.
Fashion should never be limited to your size of clothing, and warm weather shouldn't mean certain body types can bare skin while others should feel they need to cover up!
