Oprah Winfrey Reveals She's Ready to Make a Lifestyle Change

Ups and downs with weight are something so many of us deal with throughout our lives, and Oprah Winfrey is not shy about admitting that she too has had her fair share of struggles. But the new part-owner of Weight Watchers is ready to take action and make a more permanent change to her lifestyle. The 61-year-old opened up in the January issue of O magazine about how she plans to change her perspective on healthy eating. "I've wishy-washed with diets and exercise my whole life," she says. "Now I'm ready to go beyond the scale and declare a new way of being in the world." The former talk show host has tried numerous diets multiple times, but to no avail.

"I was fed up with my lose-and-gain-again routine," she explains. "I'd had enough of no-carb regimens. Some people can live without bread and pasta, but it just doesn't make sense to me. All the times I tried to do so only made me crave them more." This is why Weight Watchers was the best fit. "I wanted a plan for life, and here it was in the form of Weight Watchers. For me, this is not a diet. It's a whole shift in perspective. So yes, for sure, I'm a bona fide convert." Winfrey wore comfortable athletic clothing for the shoot. "I could live in pajamas all day long." She says she regularly practices yoga and meditation. It was just this October that Winfrey purchased a 10 percent stake in Weight Watchers for $43.2 million. This caused the company's stock to spike to 75 percent that very day. Of the weight loss avenue, Winfrey proves it truly does work, as she has tried it herself, losing 15 pounds from August to October. In the new year, she hopes to keep her journey going strong.
"Now repeat after me: Here's to good health. To the new year. To simply (or not so simply) deciding to be happy. To finally getting motivated," she says. Have you ever tried Weight Watchers out before? Source: People
