Pain-Killing Foods #15: Salt
Could one of the most common household ingredients in the world be an effective pain reliever? Salt has proven effective at dealing with one of the most annoying types of pain of all: the pain caused by an ingrown toenail.
There's nothing worse than your toenails or fingernails going "full DERP"--growing into the skin rather than growing outward. Thankfully, salt can help you to deal with the pain, and all you need to do is soak your foot in a bath of warm salt water for half an hour a day. Within a few days, the pain should be gone, and you can prevent a nasty infection by soaking your foot.

The warm water helps to soothe the pain of the infection, and the salt kills off the bacteria that are causing the ingrown toenail pain. It also helps to reduce the swelling in your toe, helping to return your nail to its normal, healthy shape.
Soak your feet in warm to hot water 15 minutes twice a day, and the pain will be gone within a few days!
