People Who Curse A Lot Are Hotter, More Confident and Less Stressed

Is there any better way to express yourself than to let the curse words fly? When we curse, we say exactly what is on our minds and the message is never misunderstood. Swearing conveys passion at the highest level. If you have a habit of letting the expletives fly, you're in luck, swearing says some pretty cool things about you.

I’m cursing my ass off because I’m confident about my sh*t, motherf*cker.

Researchers at Keele University in Staffordshire recently presented findings about the links between cursing and mental behaviour at the British Psychological Society’s annual conference. They found that cursing was most often associated with angry attitudes and emotions toward certain subjects and is used as a coping mechanism. One of the researchers, Dr. Richard Stephens, says, "We want to use more taboo words when we are emotional. We grow up learning what these words are and using these words while we are emotional can help us to feel stronger." It appears that cursing lead the study's participants to feel a greater sense of empowerment.

There's nothing like a lover with a dirty mouth

So, not only are we more confident when we curse, we also appear to be more attractive. One survey found that both men and women think swearing is sexy when done appropriately. Obviously this excludes swearing in front of someone's grandmother or in the middle of a group of young children but letting loose while in bed or dropping an f-bomb into a story for emphasis, makes you appear even sexier. Makes sense if you think about it, it is a from of comfort and confidence. You are letting go and not fearing judgement. Is there anything sexier than pure abandon?

People who curse aren’t bottling up their stress and emotions.

People who express and vent their frustrations are often found to be in healthier mental states than those who don't. By letting go of our emotions, really letting fly, there is an acute therapeutic effect that impacts our mentality. Prevention reports that expressing our true emotions through the occasional outburst or tantrum prevents our brains from releasing too much cortisol over the long term. Cortisol is a stress hormone that makes us feel all shades of terrible, not to mention anything about how it makes us fat... So, there you have it. Swearing can decrease stress and increase confidence and sex appeal. What do you think? Is cursing taboo and inappropriate or a spectacular way to make your point?
