Porn Isn't What Men Really Want to Hide on Their Phones
You might think that nowadays American men are more concerned with hiding porn on their phones which is why they like to keep their phones close to the chest. Not so. A poll of 1,000 men and women - conducted by market research firm TNS on behalf of the new Clean Master app – reveals that just 13% of men say they would be embarrassed if friends and family found naked snaps of other people on their phones.
It turns out that the largest percentage of respondents were more concerned about their banking history being accessed. Over 25% said they wanted to hide this information. And while 15% of men are concerned about hiding their porn habits...5% of women are too as well as an additional 5% that were worried about naked photos of other people on their devices. But according to the study, nine per cent of men have naked photos on their mobile devices, while only two per cent of women are guilty of doing so.
And although Americans may appear that they are incredibly concerned about privacy they are not taking the adequate steps to insure it. While a whopping 81% felt that they needed to keep files and photos on their phones a secret, on 16% of those surveyed kept their phones and tablets locked with a password.
So what's the big deal? It turns out that we are storing larger and larger amounts of personal information on our phones not just racy photos from a significant other. The lack of a password might be indicative of a certain amount of laziness as it adds another step to accessing the phone. Just a hint for when the family is in town...turn on a password. Its incredibly easy for a phone to be hacked which gives the hacker access to your facebook, social media accounts, search history, address, personal information, your family's numbers, and so much more.
Add the password.
