Have you been feeling sluggish? Tired? Lazy? It's that time of year when you let loose and enjoy extra treats, drinks (wine), and comfort food which is OK. This by no means makes you a bad person so don't get down on yourself! Life is all about balance and a fun night out every now and then. If you truly want to see results, then fine tuning your diet has to be part of the process. You can crunch to your hearts content, but abs (and muscles in general) ARE made in the kitchen. You are what you eat! Fuel your body for the results you want. That being said, I am proposing that you choose two things to eliminate for 30 days. For me, that is going to be alcohol and refined sugars. In addition to cutting out two things I want you to aim to drink a gallon of water a day, get 8 hours of sleep a night, and aim for 15-30 minutes of activity, 5 times a week. If you stick to these daily targets, I assure you that you will begin to notice results within 30 days time. If you don't believe me, try it. Take a before and after picture, stick to the plan, and compare your photos at the end. I know this works because I have done it before - trust the process! As far as meals go, I will be posting more healthy recipes for meals, smoothies, and juices throughout the month to keep us all on track but with fresh flavors and variety. Eating is important so don't starve yourself. Relatively speaking, aim for a protein source with every meal as well as plenty of vegetables. Don't avoid carbs, they are not the enemy. Just make sure you are choosing the right ones (i.e. sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa, oatmeal, etc.). It might sound scary or intimidating at first but if you are looking to see results, I encourage you to give it a go. I'm in....are you??
