Robyn Lawley Bares Her Stretchmarks And Urges Mothers To Love Their Postpartum Bodies

Robyn Lawley is celebrating the changes in her body brought about by motherhood. The 26 year old Australian model shared a stripped down selfie on her Instagram and Facebook accounts with an open letter condemning the way the female body is criticized and judged. She says, "As for my stretch marks I knew they were coming and as they're fading into white (like all my others) I thought I might capture them. Because they are some bad ass ‪#‎tigerstripes‬ smile. And I earned them." Lawley reminds women to be proud of themselves. She says, "'F**k them, who cares, be you, be loud, be proud. And put your efforts into skills that rely more on your physical self." She goes on to add this very important point: "to anyone who feels bad about your body especially after a baby, you are a warrior, you created a life inside of you, that's no easy feat."   Lawley, who wears a US size 12 has been labeled a 'plus size' model and is no stranger to bullying and body shaming. She has been calling for an end to labels and more diversity in the fashion industry. But being familiar with how cruel people can be does not make their actions any less painful. All you can do is exactly what Lawley says, "be loud" and "be proud." Eventually, what others have to say won't matter at all. You know who you are. Your body is yours. Every scar, every stretch mark, every inch of it tells the story of your life. Celebrate that story. Don't let others make you feel shame. How do you celebrate your tiger stripes? Source: Daily Mail
