Ronda Rousey Lands Starring Role In Road House Remake!
It's been a few decades since Patrick Swayze rose to fame in the 1989 action film, Road House. Now, bantamweight champion and role model to women everywhere, Ronda Rousey, is set to star in a 2016 reboot!
“Production of the movie will be dictated, as always, by her fight schedule,” Rousey’s agent Brand Slater explains. “That’s how we always do it and that will be the case here.”
Ronda is to take on the late Patrick Swayze's character as 'a tough bouncer who is hired to tame a dirty bar'. This will add to Ronda's film roster of blockbuster hits like Entourage, The Expendables 3 and Furious 7. She is also starring in her own autobiography adaption called My Fight/Your Fight.
"I want to be the highest-grossing actor in the world someday." the 28-year-old said earlier this year. "I didn't grow up wanting to be an action star. I just didn't think it was in the cards. Now that it's a possibility, I'm like, 'Screw it, I don't give a s***, if The Rock can become the world's highest-grossing actor, I can have that same goal. I was taught as a kid that you can do whatever you want in this world, so why not be the best in the world at it."
Are you excited for Ronda's big screen debut? Which movie of Ronda's has been your favourite?
