Any woman can attest to the fact that, for the most part, men seem to be lightyears behind us when it comes to emotions. They run at any sign of connection, copping out of commitment out of some unknown fear we remain utterly confused about. Us Women write stories about getting "ghosted," on the daily ... that terrible feeling of finally finding someone worth while, who drops off the face of the earth days later.
And the fact that they can't seem to catch up in everyday life is mind boggling but all too common as well. A recent study
at Newcastle University in the UK has found that “girls tend to optimize brain connections earlier than boys,” which has researchers concluding that girls mature faster in “cognitive and emotional areas.”
So what's the deal with the whole love thing? Why, when we finally meet a guy, just before it goes too far, they start heading for the door out of fear that they'll lose their independence, their "manliness," and their financial freedom?
Why do they assume marriage comes with weekend trips to Bed Bath and Beyond? They seem to hold onto their wallets tighter than ever before, staring at us with a wide-eyed expression that says they just can't handle it.
Have they forgotten it's 2015? We have killer jobs that we love; that we're not going to give up just because we're settling down with a man. We don't want to drag you shopping any chance we get, and we most certainly believe in the beauty of independence, travel and open mindedness.
What do you think? Should we just accept what science says and be left in the dark circle of rejection?
