Scientists Discover Breakthrough: How To 'Turn Off' Cancer

Finally a new breakthrough in cancer research! Scientists have cracked the code to turning cancer cells back into normal cells. Professor Panos Anastasiadis of the Mayo Clinic in Florida has released a statement on how his department has come to understand this revolutionary information, and how to use it in the treatment of the disease. "We should be able to re-establish the brakes and restore normal cell function. Initial experiments in some aggressive types of cancer are indeed very promising. It represents an unexpected new biology that provides the code, the software for turning off cancer." Dr. Anastasiadis explains. The technique has been tested on lab-grown breast, lung and bladder cancer cells. The scientists were able to stop the cells from multiplying at an extremely aggressive rate and eventually the threatening cancer cells morphed back into normal, harmless existences. "This is an unexpected finding… Normal cells touch each other and form junctions then they shut down proliferation. If there is a way to turn that [process] back on then that would be a way to stop [tumors] from growing." Dr. Anastasiadis adds. We have yet to see if the technique will breed the same results within the bodies of humans as it did in the lab cells, but this breakthrough is a major step forward in treating and curing cancer. cancer cells What are your thoughts?
