Selena Gomez Was Asked To Rate Her Own Hotness & Her Response Will Make You Sad

Wow, when did it become appropriate to ask a woman to rate her level of 'hotness' on a scale of 1-10? Doesn't sound very respectful and yet, this is exactly what Selena Gomez was asked to do. Gomez appeared on The TJ Show radio program to discuss any number of things and her hotness level was apparently one of them. She said, “I would say, like, [on] a premiere day, I would be a good nine. And then on my every day I feel like a 6. Gosh that sounds so bad. I feel like a 6 or a 7.” This is sad. And this is sad because at 22 years old, Gomez is insane successful as a performer, a designer and actress. Her talent has made her successful but the interview discussed how she looked, as though that was all that mattered. It is even more sad that we live in a world that considers glamorous gala looks (that require a make up team, clothing designers etc) to be the height of beauty and that a woman's everyday look is just average. Here's the part that makes me feel a little sick, why is a young woman being asked to rank and compare her body against the societal standard of all other women? Why are any of us being ranked and compared that way? Selena Gomez is not a number. You are not a number. None of us are numbers. We deserve more. We need to demand more. h/t: Refinery 29 Do you follow us on Instagram? [caption id="attachment_99115" align="alignnone" width="100"]snapchat snapcode @BodyRockTVv[/caption]
