Smoothie Recipes: Mint Chocolate Chip

As far as smoothie recipes go, this one is almost too good to be true!

If you dig Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, you’ll love this sweet (and healthy) smoothie recipe.

It is packed with iron, healthy fat, potassium and the antioxidant health benefits of dark chocolate.

Here’s what you’ll need: (1 serving)

¼ avocado

½ ripe banana

1 cup fresh spinach

7-10 almonds or 1 tablespoon almond butter

1 tablespoon fresh chopped peppermint leaves

1 tablespoon crushed/chopped dark chocolate * You’ll want 65% or higher to reap the benefits of dark chocolate. Lindt has a great 85% chocolate.

½ cup water

3-5 ice cubes, depending on how thick you’d like your smoothie.

Directions:

Toss all your ingredients in the blender - except for the dark chocolate. Blend well. When the mixture is smooth (45 seconds - 1 minute) pour it into a glass and sprinkle with dark chocolate. Enjoy one of our favorite delightfully wicked and healthy smoothie recipes!
