Mens Fitness reports that making out is considered gross by half of the world, and is often thought of as unhygienic. So what Western culture has romanticized in Hollywood movies and sang about in oh so many pop classics, is actually kind of icky depending on where you live. In fact, kissing barely occurs in 91 cultures all across the globe. There is no first kiss at the beginning of relationships, and no kiss to signify marriage. These kiss-less cultures include many indigenous groups. Romantic kissing is not found in Saharan Africa, Somalia or New Guinea. The Inuit and The Maori of New Zealand "kiss" without touching lips. They do this by pressing their noses together and inhaling each other's breath.
