Superfit Hero Launches Activewear Line For Plus-Size Women
The majority of women walking around are not super thin. In fact, the average woman wears a size 14 these days so why is that the majority of mainstream fitness clothing lines top out at a size 12?
That certainly inspires confidence in someone looking to take the first steps in adopting a healthy lifestyle!
Some argue that plus-sized women don't workout so there isn't a demand but we know that's not the case. Fortunately, so does Superfit Hero and they are here to help.
"Because fitness has had such a profound impact on my own life, I wanted to share that experience with other women," says founder Micki Krimmel, "I was surprised to learn that it can be quite difficult for women above size 12 to find high-quality performance clothing. I wanted to create performance clothing that makes women feel confident so they can get the most out of their workout."
The brand offers sizes that range from XS-3X, or 0-26! Their fabulous leggings are flattering and created with plus-size women in mind. The best part is that the waistband supports without an elastic so muffin tops are nothing to worry about and, as Krimmel adds, "our signature adjustable waistband is tall and tapered to provide plenty of support when worn high on the waist." No more rolling down!
The stitching prevents chaffing and the gusset allows for more mobility.
Proving that there is a demand for this clothing, Superfit Hero raised over $55,000 in a Kickstarter campaign and are begging to build inventory.
"We're launching our online store in November with leggings in additional styles and fabrics, [as well as] tops and accessories," says Krimmel. The brand website shares inspiring athlete profiles in order to lend support. Krimmel says, "You can also expect more in-depth video stories featuring Superfit Heros from our community... A big part of the Superfit Hero mission is to support diverse athletes by sharing their stories and to help make women's fitness more inclusive and empowering."
Creating empowerment isn't always easy but Superfit Hero seems to have a real handle on the task! Amazing.
Will you check out their online store in November?
