How To Tell if a Short Hairstyle Will Look Good On You - Before You Chop Your Hair

Ever caught yourself pinning your hair back to go for a run and contemplating what it would look like if you took the plunge and gave it a chop? Well now there is a new way to check if short hair is right for you. Grab a ruler and a pencil!

It's called the 2.25" (5.5cm) rule. Hairstylist-superstar John Frieda discovered this helpful tool, based on the angle of one's jaw bone. Position your pencil under your chin horizontally and place a ruler under your ear vertically. Measure from the intersection of the pencil and ruler. Less than 2.25" and short hair is your style! Anything above that number, and long hair is the way to go!

So no more guessing games, now you know if you're cleared to cut or not.

Try it and tell us what you think!
