Terry Richardson: Pure Smut

February 06, 2014 2 min read

Terry Richardson makes me want to projectile vomit. For anyone who has heard The Lonely Island’s song “The Creep” - Richardson fits the exact description, almost as if it’s an ode to good ol’ Uncle Terry. Yes, that’s the nickname he prefers to be called by the models he photographs – because apparently he isn’t creepy enough as it is. The most recent article on Jezebel: “Let’s Be Done With Terry Richardson Forever Now” is pretty telling, but also incredibly similar to Jezebel’s first story about Richardson back in 2010. *2010, for those of you who are bad at math, is 4 years ago. That’s 4 years that this pervert has been continuing to work for major brands and celebrities. It’s really amazing that so many models and actors have come forward about Richardson’s perverted behaviour, I understand how easy it is for young models and actresses to be intimidated or coerced into doing things they are uncomfortable with. One thing that I don’t understand is, NO SUITS HAVE BEEN FILED. He is, at this point, only an ALLEGED sex offender. Thank you Jamie Perk, Rie Rasmussen, Liskula Cohen, and the several other models and actors for sharing your experience, now could you maybe do something that would actually stop him from doing it again? Lawsuit possibilities aside, Changed.org has a petition to get major brands to stop hiring him, and even H&M, who have hired Richardson recently, showed pretty solid contempt for him on twitter (which is of course how all legal and binding contracts are being made now). Since the models don’t seem willing to sue, maybe this petition is the best shot there is at putting this plaid-clad sex vagrant in his place.
