The Internet is Judging You Miley Cyrus ...(20 Pictures)

August 28, 2013 5 min read

Has Miley gone too far? ''Miley striped into a nude latex bra and hot-pants to perform lewd dance with Robin Thicke at MTV VMAs. Celebrities including Nick Cannon and Brooklyn Decker took to Twitter to blast Miley's performance while Rihanna and One Direction seen looking visibly stunned by the 20 year old singers performance'' I don't think this was necessary at all, you would never see Beyonce, Celine etc stooping to these levels, but I find myself on the fence with this everyone .... Let's talk ..... What are we all pretending to be so Shocked about it? It is because its such a leap from her Hanna Montana days ? Lady Gaga filmed herself naked just last week and lets be honest, she is rarely dressed in clothes when she just pops out to eat !! The ''shock factor'' goes back as far as Cher in an all in one see through thong onesie lol, and of course Madonna, Gaga & Rihanna are both up there along with numerous other celebrities that have dared to shock & take a risk for Media Attention even as small as the Safety Pin dress wore by Elizabeth Hurley. Let's look at Kim Kardashian ... If it wasn't for a S#x Tape we wouldn't even know who she & her media hungry family were ?! & I'm sure you can name at last 5 more people in your head right now that you only know because of something that got you to sit back & look up -- all be it for the right or wrong reasons. If it's attention they were hoping for, then good or bad, they have got it ! - the shear fact I have been able to talk about them all right now shows it worked right ? Let's be honest, at 20 years old, Miley Cyrus got onto most celebrities twitter accounts, single handedly took the lime light on one of the biggest music events in the world - she managed to out shock anyone else who performed - even Lady Gaga ! (which seriously must have P!ssed her off lol) & is currently sweeping across every gossip site throughout the world - hhuummmmmmm The only difference is that unlike the Beyonce's, Celine's, Presley's, etc .. of this world, she just won't last the distance as lets be honest, pure talent always wins & stands the test of time without having to resort to pulling this sort of prank to be seen. Now, I love a bit of gossip, TMZ is my favourite daily pleasure lol - but the part of me that is saddened by all this is that this gets more attention than the thousands that are killed each week around the world due to conflict. (#howsad) Anyway back to the topic at hand .... Can we really blame Miley for this ? She's 20 & her piers around her are not exactly angels of the media world. She has grown up in the limelight & she's trying to break free from her Hannah Montana days & her family are also driven by the media world - so how would she know any different ??  Shouldn't her team or agent hold some responsibility if this wasn't supposed to ''go'' that way on the night ?  - she finds herself in a world of ''showbiz'' that has made it almost impossible to be recognized unless you unleash  ''shock factor'' .... & she went balls to the wall to make sure she was noticed ... good or bad :/ - Thats her choice to make I guess. We have all done things we wish we hadn't right ... Especially at 20 lol ... God I wish I was 20 again lol. So who's to blame for this 20 year old gyrating on stage in a pair of latex undies ?? Her Family, Agents, Her ?? Is it her responsibility as other celebrities do to inspire her generation & be aware that she has a lot of pull in how young girls dress & act & has a responsibility to act on that ? or, is this just they showbiz of today and she should be left to do whatever she wants ?  ( however, when do u step in ?? We all know what happened to Britney & Amanda Byrnes ) Do kids really aspire to be like this ?  is this the right way to go ? Discuss ..... [gallery ids="|"] I wonder is Lada Gaga looked at her and thought ''this is what I must look like'' oh crap  .... Facts about the performance: East Coast Twitter traffic for the 2013 Video Music Awards reached a peak level of 306,100 tweets per minute,NBCNews.com reports. According to NBC News, Miley "holds the title of most tweeted-about VMA performance, receiving 4.5 million mentions in tweets sent out during the 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET airing." Miley took to Twitter to brag about the achievement, writing, "Smilers! My VMA performance had 306,000 tweets per minute. That's more than the blackout or Superbowl! #fact" She also tweeted a review from Rolling Stone, writing: "'Miley was the one star in the room who truly understood what the MTV Video Music Awards are all about! Miley stole the night, which is why the nation is still in recovery today. Thanks, Miley...' - Rolling Stone" Shock factor got the job done... ? Here are a few tweets from the night ... Robin Thicke's Mom, Gloria Loring: "I was not expecting [Miley] to be putting her butt that close to my son," she told OMG! Insider. "It's not that I saw it once, it's that I can never un-see it." Piers Morgan: The CNN host tweeted "Don't understand all the fuss about Miley Cyrus. Some of us have been twerking for years..." MSNBC's Morning Joe host Mika Brzezinski was also not amused, saying, "I wouldn't make a joke out of it actually. That was really, really disturbing. That young lady, who is 20, is obviously deeply troubled, deeply disturbed, clearly has confidence issues, probably an eating disorder, and I don't think anybody should have put her onstage. That was disgusting and embarrassing." Yikes. Harry Styles: In an interview with Yahoo! after the VMAs, the One Direction singer called Miley's performance "very reserved," adding, "She's quite shy and I think it's about time she comes out of her shell." He also referred to her performance as one "you could sit and watch with your kids and your Grandma." Kelly Clarkson: The American Idol alum sparked a Twitter feud with Miley's BFF when shetweeted, "Just saw a couple performances from the VMA's last night. 2 words....#pitchystrippers." Bill Maher: The HBO host tweeted,"Watching VMAs. Haven't been in a strip club in a while, but good to see nothing has changed." ...
