#ThighReading: The Hashtag to Promote Self Confidence

Have you ever been full on relaxing and took a second to notice that perhaps your posture was exposing parts of your body that you may not be so fond of? Whether it's unwanted rolls, veins, cellulite or stretch marks, we're not typically keen on showing off our imperfections. But many on the Internet are taking a stand against keeping their flaws behind closed doors by embracing their imperfect bodies with pride. Enter #ThighReading, a hashtag making its mark on social media as people post shots of the stretch marks on their inner thighs. Why? I'm sure we're all guilty of glancing down at our wide-legged posture in shorts, resting our books on our stomachs and taking note that we have these inevitable grooves in our skin. We react quickly upon noticing them, looking to do whatever it takes to cover them up. Or, perhaps we notice no one is around and we're clear to keep comfy in our spots. But the bottom line is, we shouldn't be hiding from our natural selves, and that's what this trending hashtag is out to accomplish. But who was the brave woman to break the mold first? Actor and student @princess_labiaby tweeted a photo of her inner thighs, showing off her stretch marks and captioning it "palm readings <<<< thigh readings." The Internet responded rapidly, as a large quantity of her 10,000 followers responded with their very own photos of #ThighReading.
