This Is How Jennifer Lopez Stays In Top Form At 46!

Time may always be passing but to look at Jennifer Lopez, you'd never know it! The 46-year-old star continues to offer up a wealth of fitspiration! Her tight and toned physique comes from logging some serious hours at the gym but as J-Lo's trainer, Tracy Anderson, reveals, there is so much more to the story! Anderson told PEOPLE, "I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing.  It's all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food." Lopez does not eat anything packaged or processed. "Everything is fresh, there’s nothing processed – just [protein powder] in a shake if we do a protein shake one day," explains Anderson.   Lopez  keeps things as balanced as she can so that when the holidays or a special occasion rolls around, she can enjoy them with her children. There are no extreme diets for Lopez! “We’re all human,” Lopez explains to PEOPLE. “I don’t think you should beat yourself up if you make a mistake or if you have a potato chip. Everyone wants a cookie or a piece of cake or fried chicken every once in while. It’s not about that. It’s about consistently and always trying to be better and trying to do good.”  She practices portion control while avoiding salt, sugar and alcohol. And while Lopez always has a jam packed schedule, she makes sure to get  8 hours of sleep each night. She works closely with Anderson and is committed to her fitness routine even when she doesn't feel much like working out.  "Sometimes when I get home and I'm not feeling so great, I make myself go to the gym," Lopez says. "Then I come home and take a shower, put on a great outfit, some makeup, tie my hair up, and I feel pepped up and great about myself." If you treat your body right, it is hard not to feel great about yourself! But don't get too upset if you slip up now and then. "I really try to think positively," Lopez says. "I try to do a lot of affirmations for good health and positive thinking to just get my mind and my spirit in the right place so I can face whatever it is that I need to face."
