This Is How Two Twins Cleared Their Cystic Acne in Three Days

This is how these sisters cleared up their skin.

Nina and Randa Nelson are identical twins.  The 22-year-olds have made successful careers as YouTube sensations, and recently revealed to the world how they cured their cystic acne in just a few months.

By simply changing their diets, they were able to escape the painful and swollen side effects of their bad skin.

Raised on a vegan diet, the young women went through their teens nearly blemish-free. But by the age of 20, they found themselves dealing with intense breakouts. Since animal products are often linked to oily skin and acne, it didn't seem likely that it could be from their diet.

As the days went on, the Los Angeles-based sisters tried as many cleansers, medications and antibiotics that they could get their hands on, even working with several dermatologists, but to no avail.

This is how these sisters cleared up their skin. Their skin was causing the actresses and singers to lose confidence. They were eventually advised to try Accutane, which is a controversial acne drug that has been linked to hair loss, cracked lips and severe depression. "There has to be another alternative," the girls explain in the introductory video about their acne journey. "We thought, it has to be something we're putting into our body. But what is it? We don't know. We are already vegan, what should we do?" Their father advised them to connect with diet specialist Dr. John McDougall, who had helped their mother overcome an autoimmune disease that had the entire family on a plant-based diet. Mainly, he recommended the elimination of foods containing oils and fats of any kind. The doctor's website recommended eliminating oily and fatty foods, which the girls were, in fact, consuming. They were regular consumers of dairy-free peanut butter, avocados and soy products. "What Dr. McDougall said on his website about acne and excess fats made complete sense to us, so we tried it," the sisters explained. After just three days, they began to see the results. "Within three days, we had no new breakouts! It was just a matter of healing up the scars." This is how these sisters cleared up their skin.

The girls now consume brown rice with vegetables, whole wheat and rice pasta, potatoes, sweet potatoes, condiments and many types of beans. They also eat extra fruit and dried fruit and drink smoothies with oats regularly.
