It's so easy for people to judge others. But, do they ever stop to think that what meets their eye initially doesn't always tell the entire story? Trying to take her mind off of the severe symptoms that consume her daily, she and her child visited a shopping center. When the two returned to their car, a cruel note awaited them. "Did you forget your wheel chair???" the note said. Little did the commenter know that Van Den Borne was using a disabled parking pass due to a serious health issue.
A moving response one woman had about her disability.
While it could have ben easier for Van Den Borne to feel sad, and then simply forget the letter, she decided to share the note on Facebook as a means of awareness. “On the day you saw me I was having a good day. I was walking with my daughter unaided having a nice day. Thank you for ruining that," the woman wrote. There is no cure for multiple sclerosis, which is an autoimmune disorder that affects the nerve sheaths found in the brain and spinal cord. By sharing her story on social media, Van Den Borne hopes to show people the importance of open mindedness and compassion. “Before you ruin another persons day remember you don’t know everything. Just because you can’t see it it doesn’t mean a person isn’t struggling to put one foot in front of the other," she wrote.  Have you ever witnessed a similar situation occur?
