Joint/Back Pain Advil is the heavy hitter for inflammation, with it's main ingredient ibuprofen. Fever Both medicines are effective, but Advil's ibuprofen additive gives it a little more power. It is important to remember that both of these products are not to consumed excessively as their main ingredient, acetaminophen, can cause liver damage in large doses. Ibuprofen can also have a negative impact on the gastrointestinal tract and can even lead to internal bleeding if consumed in great excess.
