Unforgettable Roasted Brussel Sprouts

I absolutely hated brussel sprouts as a kid. I remember the first time I had eaten them boiled and I actually was so disgusted, I spit them out right then and there. For years, I was so scared to try this "awful" veggie again and would deny putting it on my plate. As I grew older, I started experimenting with all of the vegetables that I had once hated and found that sometimes, its not the veggie, but the way in which you prepare them! I decided to attempt one more shot at the brussel sprout. This time, I decided to try out my favorite way of eating veggies- by roasting them! Lo and behold, I am now the biggest fan of brussel sprouts! Here's my tasty recipe for making your brussel sprouts worth eating: Ingredients
  • 1 lb of Brussel Sprouts
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • salt/pepper to taste
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Prepare the brussel sprouts by tearing off the green outer leaves, which tend to the bitter, in my opinion. Wash them thoroughly.
  3. Toss the sprouts in a bowl with the olive oil, then adding the spices.
  4. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown at the edges.
  5. EAT THEM!
Prepare to be amazed.
