Vanity Has a Pretty High Cost

November 15, 2013 2 min read

The cost of vanity has always been high!
  • U.S. women spend about $7 billion per year on cosmetics - or about $100 per month per woman
  • Dermabrasion (to deal with skin problems) costs about $1,000
  • Breast augmentation costs just under $4,000
  • Buttock implants (thanks Nicki Minaj) costs around $4,700
  • A facelift can cost over $5,000
  • Lower body lifting costs roughly $8,000
It's amazing how much people will spend to look beautiful - or what they think is beautiful! For example, Toby Sheldon spent as much as $100,000 on plastic surgery to look like Justin Bieber.   [caption id="attachment_31125" align="aligncenter" width="659"]Source: http://www.popdust.com Source: http://www.popdust.com[/caption] What a waste of money! But if you think that's the highest price anyone has paid for their vanity, you'd be wrong! A woman in China spent over $100,000 on plastic surgeries in order to drastically change the way she looked.  The surgeries went well, and she turned out pretty decent-looking. She got married, and she soon had children. That's when the truth was revealed: her kids were ugly. No, we're not talking about funny-looking - we're talking...well....see for yourself. [caption id="attachment_31124" align="aligncenter" width="622"]Source: http://www.kineda.com Source: http://www.kineda.com[/caption] Father of the children Jian Feng accused her of cheating on him, but a paternity test proved that they were his. She confessed that she had undergone extensive plastic surgery - giving her the good looks she had, but which would not be passed on to the children. In a total douche move, Feng sued his wife - using false pretenses as the grounds for the lawsuit. He said she "duped him into believing that she was beautiful", and she left out the tiny detail about her plastic surgeries. Shockingly, a Chinese judge actually kept the case in court, and even gave the case to the husband. Mrs. Feng was ordered to pony up $120,000. What a horror show!   Sources:
