Vegan Gluten-Free Pumpkin Spice Latte

It’s autumn now, which means pumpkin spice EVERYTHING, including the delicious and addictive pumpkin spice latte, which has become my go-to order. But have you seen the ingredients list? Preservatives, caramel colouring, artificial flavours… that delicious fall staple becomes suddenly less appealing. Here is a vegan and gluten-free homemade alternative for when you’re craving a pumpkin pick-me-up. Ingredients:
  • Coffee
  • ½ cup of almond milk
  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tbsp. agave (or maple syrup)
pumpkinspicelatte Directions:
  1. Brew your coffee, the stronger the better.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the rest of the ingredients thoroughly and warm in the microwave or on stovetop for 1 minute. If you have a milk-frother then use it, but a thorough mixing should do the trick.
  3. Pour coffee into a mug until it’s ¾ full and top with the pumpkin milk mixture. Add whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon as garnish.
Not a coffee fan? Try it over regular black tea instead.
