Viral Picture Shows Exactly What Cocaine Does To Your Body

Warning: This story contains graphic imagery.  Drugs and a healthy body do not go hand in hand. That isn't really news to any of us. But this graphic, and less than pretty, picture showing exactly what cocaine does to your body has gone viral. Dentist Howard Farran posted a picture to Facebook of a "palatal perforation due to cocaine abuse." Basically, this means there is a hole in this patient where there shouldn't be a hole. cocaine DrugAddictionTreatment says:
"Under the influence of cocaine, the sympathetic nervous system significantly narrows blood vessels throughout the body, including the vessels that send blood to the tissues in the nasal cavity. Consequences of this narrowing include an increase in blood pressure and a drop in the amount of blood that can easily flow through the vessels at any given time. Without their required blood supply, the tissues in the nasal cavity start to undergo destructive changes in their normal level of function and overall health."
Like I needed another reason to never try cocaine! My dreams will now be haunted. Time to go Google pictures of baby animals to cleanse my thoughts! How about you? Does this picture surprise you?
