Want A Body Like Kate Hudson? We've Got Her Diet And Exercise Secrets!

Kate Hudson is radiant. Not only does she have a fabulously fit and toned body, she seems to positively glow -- a glow that is far more than skin deep.

Hudson has a bevvy of healthy habits that keep her looking great and feeling happy. In her new book,  Pretty Happy,  she details how she became  "healthy, strong and beautiful from the inside out," so all of us can do the same! Here are a few of her secrets.

She's not into breakfast -- like, not at all.

Conventional wisdom says that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but Hudson finds it hard to stomach. "I'm not one of those people who wakes up hungry," she told Self. "...I realize that when I do [have breakfast], I eat less during the day or late at night." So, in the mornings, she has a cup of coffee and a green juice then busts out a workout.

Her workouts vary but often include running, cycling, Pilates or a Tracy Anderson routine. After doing her morning exercise, Hudson downs a protein shake.

Her diet is partly a "chemistry experiment."

Hudson believes in following an alkaline diet which means that she avoids acidic foods and tries to get 60-80% of her calories from tofu, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. This type of diet also means she avoids meat, dairy and gluten while limiting her sugar intake.

But, she's not  100% committed to clean eating.

For lunch, Hudson usually has a salad followed by a late-afternoon snack. She does her best to have 5, small, plant-based meals each day. "I don't remember the last time I had a steak," she says.

But none of this means she is perfect all of the time. "If I want to go out and eat at a restaurant with amazing food, I'll do that, like, once a week where I'm not thinking about it," she says. "I want to indulge! I want to do things that are not healthy sometimes." One of her favourite guilty treats is Hawaiian pizza, for example.

She really, really, really loves coffee.

Hudson doesn't just start her morning with coffee, she often uses it to give herself a boost during the day when she feels a dip in energy. As far as vices go, this one is pretty reasonable!

It is pretty clear that Hudson is at home with her healthy habits and confident in her skin. But, her relationship with her body hasn't always been so peaceful. She says she was never an emotional eater, but has made lots of poor food choices in the past. "Now, after a lot of trial and error, I've figured out how not to overthink what I eat," she says. "I don't restrict myself … I've learned to enjoy new foods and new ways to be inside my body – and there are always new options to discover."

Due to COVID-19, shipping systems the world over are experiencing abnormal delays. There is an enormous demand on postal and delivery services as online shopping has skyrocketed, due to store closures and stay-at-home mandates. This is an unprecedented situation, and we are working around the clock to fulfill your orders as quickly as possible. To be clear, we are filling orders in 4-6 days, and we are shipping immediately after that. Once shipped, our shipping partner, UPS, will get your order out to you as quickly as possible. Are you in Canada? Specifically, are you outside of a metropolitan centre? We need to alert you to a disruption in shipping due to COVID-19. Our preferred shipping provider, UPS, has informed us that they cannot guarantee express shipping for many locations. We have also seen that packages delivered to Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, etc, are not waylaid, but packages delivered to areas just outside of these cities are being held in transit for days or even weeks. UPS has discontinued their guarantee of 1-4 day delivery, which you can read more about here. Therefore, we can guarantee early fulfillment but not early delivery of our goods from our warehouse to your door at this time.


We want you to start your fitness journey with us as quickly as possible, that’s why we send every package to the USA & Canada via expedited or standard shipping with our partners at UPS. Once your order is received and processed, it typically takes 2-4 days to get to you once it leaves our warehouse. That’s our commitment and we stand by it.

We ship within Canada and the United States via UPS with Standard & Expedited shipping (whichever is faster)

For locations outside of the US and Canada, we ship using FedEx International (EUROPE and Other Nations), which is usually in transit for 7-10 business days, depending on location.

We ship all of our physical products with UPS, from our warehouse location in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Delays caused due to custom withholds are not included in these estimated delivery times.

Returns & Exchanges

BodyRock Equipment

We offer a 30-day return policy, as long as: it is not more than 30 days past the date of delivery; and your item is in its original condition and packaging with the original order number. Refunds will be issued when the equipment is received back to the BodyRock warehouse, minus the original cost of shipping, and the customer is responsible for the costs of return shipping. To request a refund on physical product purchases, please contact us.

Digital Products

We cannot issue refunds on digital goods such as e-books or videos, as these are non-tangible goods that are irrevocable once the order is placed.
