Check out a few highlights:
Long Live Your Lettuce!
Don’t check toss your lettuce in the fridge. Remove it from its plastic wrapping and wash and drain it. Soak a clean tea towel under a cold tap and ring it out. Compost any lettuce leaves that are brown, and then wrap the lettuce in the damp towel. Put it in the fridge and marvel at how much longer your crispy greens stay fresh.
Banish Your Bananas...To the Freezer
Don’t toss your browning bananas. Instead, peel them, put them in a freezer bag and throw them in the freezer. Pull them out as needed for smoothies, shakes and baking.
Dairy Do’s
The cheese doesn’t have to stand alone. To increase the longevity of your dairy products, make sure you put them in the fridge within 2 hours of bringing them home - unless of course you plan to freeze them. Got milk?
