We Debunk The Most Common Myths About Bras!
You probably own several, but do you really know what's fact and what's fiction when it comes to your bra? Is it true that most women are wearing the wrong sized bra? What about washing? And is over-wearing of a bra really bad for your health? Let's debunk some of these pressing undie-related issues: #1 Bra Sizing It is true that nearly 80% of women out there are wearing the wrong size bra. But it's easy enough to remedy. No need to get fitted in store if it makes you feel awkward, because you can measure yourself at home. Start by putting on a bra with light padding and measure around your rib cage just under your breasts, rounding up to the nearest inch. That's your band size. Now measure around the center of your breasts across your nipples. Write both band size and the second number down and complete this equation. Second number – band size = cup size If you get one you're an A cup, and if you get two you're a B cup and so on. Tada! #2 Not All Bras Are Created Equal When you go into a store like Victoria's Secret, chances are their bras have a certain 'model fit' which doesn't correspond which your actual cup size. It's best to do a lot of trying on in every store to know that you're an A cup at VS and a B cup at Sears. #3 Bras Are Not Bad For Your Health It has been believed for a few decades now that a tight bra could trap toxins around your chest, but no evidence suggests it to be true. However, if you hate the feeling of a bra there is nothing stopping you from setting your breasts free! No judgement. #4 Sleeping In Your Bra Doesn't Keep Breasts From Sagging Sagging is unavoidable for most women, and making yourself uncomfortable by sleeping in a bra won't do anything to prevent it. However, wearing a supportive bra in the daytime may reduce your risk of potential sag by a small degree especially when working out. #5 Hand Wash Your Bras It's best to hand-wash any delicates you may own, including bras. Washing machines destroy the fibres in your bras and loosen the fabric so you end up with a wonky feeling fit. Don't throw money away and preserve your bras with a sink wash. #6 Bring A T-Shirt When Bra Shopping Why you ask? Because then you can see how your new bra will fit under certain clothing pieces. It may look ultra s*xy without clothes on, but a t-shirt will reveal if it really does the job! What are your tips for finding the perfect bra? Source: Hello Giggles Do you follow us on Instagram?
