Weight Loss Clothing That Claims To "Hack" Your Metabolism, Burning Calories (Video)

Is it possible to lose weight while you sleep? To lose weight while you are sitting around doing pretty much next to nothing? Maybe. A high tech clothing line, which currently features vests and insoles, claims to help you do just that. thin ice lighweight vest thin ice insole It claims to trick your metabolism into high gear by making your body think its temperature has dropped. https://youtu.be/vP8wt94JhGY The Thin Ice clothing line was designed by Toronto based personal trainer and former athlete Adam Paulin. "Based on estimates derived from our prototypes, competitors and scientific literature we estimate that you'll be able to burn between 500 and 1,000 calories a day, just by wearing our clothing for the recommended duration," said Paulin. Paulin is currently running an Indiegogo campaign in order to bring this technology to interested parties. Paulin claims that the clothing lowers your temperature but you will not notice beyond a few seconds of adjusting when you first put it on. Think of it as jumping into a cold pool. But don't worry, "if you do feel the chill you can always adjust the temperature of your Thin Ice clothing via smartphone to accommodate your comfort level," said Paulin. The clothing uses Peltier cooling chips on parts of the body that contain several heat receptors. Paulin says that 50% of our daily calorie intake goes toward temperature regulation so a little teak can lead to a fairly large expenditure of energy. "I've spent a lot of time asking myself how we can hack our bodies into optimal performance using science. There is a certain satisfaction in making your body do your bidding," said Paulin. The clothing comes with an app that allows you to control the temperature, check the number of calories burned and set a timer to activate the clothes. The Indiegogo campaign has exceeded its target and should begin shipping in December. Do you buy these claims? This is the same principle that applies to metabolism boosting cold showers and cooler bedroom temperatures at night. Is this the next big product in weight loss? Would you buy one?
