Whether you're trying to slim down or tone up, you don't typically think of incorporating beer into your diet to achieve the results you want. But, good news! You can now ... sort of.
So it's Friday night and you've just had a great workout. You come home and think ... what to do now? Beer or protein shake? For Blake Konrardy, he always opted for the beer. His friends would poke fun at him for his double-fisting habits, but he only used that to generate a genius idea: fitness beer.
It's called Brewtein, and it's a brewski boosted with protein. Konrardy designed two beers geared towards the weightlifting community. A hefty wheat ale, Brewtein bulks you up; its higher calories and carbs working to help you gain weight. He also created the Nutribeer, which is a light lager meant to help you cut calories and drop pounds.
"Ultimately, you have to find something you are truly passionate about. For me, that is the intersection of your workout and your weekend," Konrardy said. "I will say there is a big difference between having a few drinks playing softball, which is a great time, and downing a six-pack before attempting your max bench press," Konrardy said, adding wryly, "I wouldn't recommend the latter."
Would you try this guy's beers out?
