What Happens To Your Body When You Drink Kale
A satirical news website recently released an info graphic spoofing British pharmacist Niraj Naik’s graphics which explain what drinking Coke does to your body. While sugar-laden soft drinks can pack on fat and cause insulin spikes, the side effects of kale are actually beneficial to the body.
The info graphic pokes fun of some self-righteous health freaks. "You are overcome with a sense of smug satisfaction" within the first 10 minutes, and by the last few seconds you are "have an insatiable desire to force everyone to drink local, organic kale juice too so they can be individualists like you."
Kale is one of the most popular super foods on the market right now, so much so that the world is experiencing a shortage. So what makes this vegetable so sought-after to the point of turning people pretentious?
It has staggering amounts of antioxidants which have been known to reverse the damage caused by free radicals, which can prevent aging and protect against cancers. It's anti-inflammatory and anti-viral. Eating this veggie which is a part of the cabbage clan can even prevent blood clots. It's a great weight loss food because it aids in fat digestion, is low in calories and can help you feel full for longer.
So if you're willing to risk of developing a permanent smugness, give this superfood a try! What are your thoughts? Is kale your favourite green drink?
