Where Are They Now? These Celebrities Vanished From the Spotlight
We are all well aware of the stigma that comes with being a celebrity. We expect these people to continue to take on projects and promote themselves in various ways. But sometimes, people rise to fame, create a frenzy, and then years later someone will bring up their name and the question will remain, "What happened to them?"
While we're used to anyone who rises to stardom to stick around and create a lengthy career that fills up magazines, social media and our TV screens, some people quietly disappear from the spotlight without us even blinking an eye. And it makes you wonder what made them fade. Were they no longer interested in fame? Did their career take a turn for the worse?
The "Home Alone" star is a staple face in the child star realm. But after the 1994 flop of "Richie Rich," Culkin vanished for nine years. And since then, the actor has had a record of unfortunate behavior, including run-ins with the law that include drug possession. He's acted in a variety of small films over the years, but nothing quite like what he achieved during his younger years.
4. Renée Zellweger
It wasn't until this star showed up to the annual Elle Magazine Women in Hollywood Awards in 2014 looking totally different that people realized she'd been missing from the spotlight for quite some time. Her last credit was 2010’s "My Own Love Song." However, you can finally expect to see more of Zellweger with the release of "The Whole Truth" later this year, as well as two movies scheduled for release in 2016.
5. Amanda Bynes
Bynes career as a child star took off in movies and TV alike in the early 2000s and carried on into adulthood with big hits like "Hairspray." Her last credit was 2010's "Easy A." Now, Bynes is best known for battling mental illness that caused her to "retire" from Hollywood in 2012.
