Why Women Feel More Pain, But Get Over Break-Ups Faster Than Men
Research reveals that more women than men become highly emotional after parting ways with their partner.
Scientists studied people from 96 countries across the globe to better understand the biology behind break-ups. What they discovered was that women go through stages of anger and anxiety, where men are more likely to be accepting of what has happened. Women are more prone to post-break-up weight gain and insomnia.
However ladies, we are the gender who moves on easier. Long term findings showed that men hold onto the bitter resentment of a relationship ending much longer than women, even though they bury their feelings deep down. This male reaction is inevitably more self destructive than the female way of handling things. Women work through their feelings and process them, while men keep them lingering in their hearts.
If you're going through a painful break-up, it's beneficial to focus on positive things which will help you heal. Exercise can be a great channel for your energy and emotions. Concentrating on healthy, nutritious eating helps you avoid binging on comfort food. And practicing meditation, getting out in nature or taking a trip can clear your mind and aid in your soul searching.
Do you agree with the findings of this study? What are your best tips to getting over a brutal break-up?
