Woman Cruelly Called "World's Ugliest Woman" Fights Back

It takes a lot of strength and power to be a confident person in a world where it's so easy to feel judged. And that's an understatement for the woman who is cruelly called the "world's ugliest woman." This woman fights back against bullying and online abuse. Lizzie Velasquez suffers from a rare disease that causes her to have zero percent body fat. Her condition has also left her blind in one eye. People have been less than kind in regards to her appearance, however. In fact, the 26-year-old was scrolling through YouTube a few years ago when she stumbled upon a video with 4 million views called "THE WORLD'S UGLIEST WOMAN." To her dismay, the woman in the video was her. It left Velasquez devastated. The comments were incredibly demeaning as well. Viewers asked why she hadn't killed herself and why her parents had kept her in the first place. "There were thousands and thousands of awful comments, all along the lines of: the world would be a better place if I weren't in it," she told FOX News. "Each comment I read I felt like someone was physically putting their fist through the screen and punching me." This woman fights back against bullying and online abuse. But today, after fighting to stay positive despite her newfound fame as the word's ugliest woman, Velasquez wants to turn her story into a positive, by traveling the world in order to help other victims of bullying and online abuse rise above the hatred. There's even a documentary. "I always knew I wanted to show those people that they weren't going to define me. I didn't want the definition of me that they were creating to become my truth."
