Tudie-Ann Clarke never strived to be famous for losing weight. So she was more than surprised when People magazine and numerous talk shows wanted to interview her.
At 27, the Palm Beach resident was one of four women chosen by the celebrity publication to be featured in their August issue. Tudie had a photoshoot done on a Beverly Hills beach and was ushered around in limousines. Afterwards, she found herself going on a string of guest appearances from the set of Good Morning America to Inside Edition.
“We were treated like ‘celebrities.’ They did our hair, makeup, chauffeured us around. It was very glamorous.” Tudie, who works as a practical nurse, explains.
What made Tudie's story such a motivation? It all started when she was a young girl growing up in Jamaica.
“Sometimes I’d have dinner at Grandma’s house — then have a second dinner at home.” Tudie recalls. “I ate as much as I wanted, and my snacking was also unsupervised."
As she became a teenager, her family moved to America where Tudie developed a habit of late night snacking on cookies and anything sweet. In her early 20s, she tipped the scale at 241 pounds. She knew she had to change but it took time to relearn a healthy relationship with food.
“I didn’t put pressure on myself to lose a certain amount of weight within a certain amount of time." Tudie says.
It was a two year journey of learning to cook, online research and finding a workout she loves (running) which took 106 pounds off of her frame.
"I just want others to know that, if I could do it, they can too.” she assures.
What are your thoughts on Tudie's amazing journey to health and fitness?
