Women's Running Magazine Praised For Plus-Size Cover Model

18-year-old Erica Schenk is the gorgeous plus size model and runner who graces the cover of the August issue of Women's Running magazine. women's running magazine "Runners come in all shapes and sizes. You can go to any race finish line, from a 5K to a marathon, and see that." says editor-in-chief Jessica Sebor. The magazine wanted to break the mould of putting super lean and slender cover models on display. They believe it feeds into the stereotype that all runners are thin, which is simply not the case. As for Erica, she has had a passion for running ever since she was a child. Living in New York City, the aspiring model jogs regularly through Central Park. Erica enjoys how running provides a sort of clarity and increasing her focus. As with many exercises, running can alleviate anxiety, insomnia and it can actually improve self-confidence. plus size cover model "Some women believe that since they have curves they can’t run or shouldn’t run. Running is for every body, anytime." Erica explains to the magazine.  The magazine has made a wonderful choice in showcasing the diverse body types of runners. Twitter's response has been resoundingly positive to the new feature.  "I love this so much! I'm a size 12 and I ran my first marathon in March. Health at every size!" says one tweeter.
