Today we're going to talk about something a little special. In addition to being asked questions about fitness, I'm also asked a load of questions about fashion — be it fitness or street style. People want to know my tips. My favourite brands. Where I buy things. I'm happy to share! After all, life isn't just smashing out burpees and sweating through BodyRock sports bra. We may train like beasts, but we don’t want to look like them when we’re going about our daily lives.
Over the course of the next few weeks, I’ll talk about dressier fashion and sports style, but today, we’re going to talk everyday fashion. From lounging at home to grabbing tea with friends, these are my go-to pieces for laid-back (but still slaying) style.
Let's dive in!
Chilling Out Style
Jeans and a white tank, friends. This is what I wear most often behind the scenes. When I was younger, I'd save and save to buy Guess or other expensive brand name jeans. But now, I'm older and wiser and I get most of my jeans at Zara. $40 for a great pair of jeans and you can wear them into the ground and then go grab another.
Going Out Style
First off, if you're going out, you have to buy a pair of heels you can wear and walk in. Out of the gates, straight up, that's the most important thing. Doesn't matter how good you look if you can't make it 10 minutes on your feet, right? We've all been there, needing a piggy back after walking a block.
These are my favourite pair of heels. They're from Guess and have a soft bottom with a tread, so they're comfortable and have traction. They may look high and uncomfortable, but they're not. I love 'em.

Even the best everyday heels can get uncomfortable if you're going to be walking long distances. I love a pair of fancy thong sandals with a little detail to dress up the standard flip-flop look. I usually opt for a pair that I can match with everything, so black with a bit of bling to can look amazing with my favourite Prada purse (it was a gift — I know you're probably thinking I'm loaded).
The key is planning ahead: making sure the details in your accessories gel with the details in what you're wearing. These details don't have to be super obvious, but gold details on your handbag or sandals and then gold details on your jeans provide an awesome, cohesive fashion flow.
This black bomber from Diesel is my favourite jacket. It's short and tapered toward the front, which is super slimming while also giving the body shape. And, because I have a long torso, a short jacket is ideal for me because it doesn't make me seem even longer in the body. And long jackets give your ass a pop too.
When it's too cold for a super tailored jacket, I do love oversized outerwear. To prevent you from looking too bulky, just be sure to pair it with some skinny jeans or leggings. If you don't have one of your own, nick one from one of the guys in your life.
Next up, let's talk shades. My sunnies of choice are Ray Bans. Sun glasses complete your look, giving you polish and chic style.
Note on care: I take really good care of everything I own. I've always been that way, even as a kid, my dolls and prams were immaculate. I clean and condition my purses and shoes. I read the care labels on my clothes. I like to keep everything in top condition so I can enjoy it for as long as possible. If you’re going to invest in brand name pieces, then you should too. You work hard for the money that buys these things, so if you want your clothes and accessories to work hard for you, take care of them.
So, what do you think? My style is classic casual but I also like to think timeless and trendy. I like to look good and be comfortable. And, like all of you BodyRockers who’ve put so much effort into to your bodies, I like to show off my hard work.
