If you’ve never done a fitness test, now’s a great time to start. At any fitness level, a fitness test can give you a baseline gauge of your current level of fitness, helping you see just how much your workouts have helped you advance.
Of course, depending on the type of training you do, your fitness test can differ. A fitness test to measure running ability and endurance would look different from a fitness test for strength, for instance.
This said, a basic fitness test can help you gauge overall fitness. These sorts of tests will include fundamental movements, like squats, lunges, push-ups.
How to Do a Fitness Test
A fitness test to test general fitness will measure your ability to perform common strength and cardiovascular exercises during a certain period of time. (Example: Count how many squats you can do in one minute). Unless you are a personal trainer or other fitness specialist, you likely won’t have the know-how to put a fitness test together on your own — but that’s why we’re here, with this free fitness test!
