The Journal of the American Heart Association has published a report that basic movement can have incredible benefits when it comes to reducing the risks associated with heart disease. According to the study, you don’t need to hit the gym for an hour a day to keep your heart healthy. Routine activities that you likely wouldn’t consider ‘exercise’ like cooking, standing, walking up your stairs, cleaning, gardening and lawn work - are all types of basic movements that can have a massive impact on your heart health.

The study found that just 4 hours of movement based activity per day lowered the risk of heart disease by an astonishing 43% and lowered the risk of stroke by 30%. The risk of dying of cardiovascular disease dropped by 62% as well.
